The Bubble’s Rainbow Gloss

The Bubble's Rainbow Gloss

Choice of Focus

Her life
Has been one full of warm embraces
Friendly faces
Untied shoe laces
Dragging through the dirt.
Her time
Has been spent in merry-making
Grateful resting, groggy waking
Reckless risk-taking
So much beyond her hurt.

Don’t Dress in Black

Don’t dress in black the day I die
Instead, wear blue, like care-free sky
Or yellow, like the smiling sun,
Don’t wear black when my life is done.

Wear white, to match my joyful breath
Don’t dress to try to match my death.
Wear green, soak in the reaching light
Don’t dress in black, like leering night

Please don’t wear black that day, because
You will not honor who I was.
Don’t dress in black, my dear, don’t cry,
I am not gone, though I may die.

Live On, Love On

When life comes pounding at your door
And violent flings you to the floor,
When faith you thought you had is gone,
Though you feel dead, live on, love on.

When hope has been ripped from your chest,
When all you want in life is rest,
God brings fresh hope with each new dawn.
He’ll be your strength. Live on. Love on.

When love is absent from your life…
When “love” has been a twisting knife,
Don’t hide yourself, withheld, withdrawn.
His love is true. Live on! Love on!

When you are wearied by the run,
And all your dreams have been undone,
You can be lifted far beyond
The weight and fear. Live on, love on.

Days Without Regret

She paused, set her cup down to say
(And ask pardon, if it was cliche)
But she never regretted a day
When she sat down, quite out of the way,
And spent time just to read, or to pray
Or the moments spent simply to lay
Back, observing the wind at its play
And absorbing creation’s array.

Favorite Things

Her favorite thing was moonbeams
And stars across the sky
But it was also Christmas lights
And homemade pumpkin pie
Wild, breathless laughter was
For sure her favorite thing,
But what could hold a candle to
The flowers in the spring?
The thing she loved the best, of course,
Was hugs from family
But nothing could be better than
A heart-strung melody
The crisp, clean air, the smell of books,
The colored leaves in fall
How could she ever choose just one
To love the most of all?

Happy People

Happy people!
God, I love them.
Truly diamonds in the rough,
for it’s rair as summer snowfall
to have joy when life is tough.
I’ve seen too much
of frustration,
it is everywhere you turn.
To find joy within the battle
is a true challenge to learn.
I thank God
for happy people,
fresh air through the musted mind.
Those who search out
ways to smile,
are the best that you will find.
